How can the hardware type of a virtuel appliance be changed?
The hardware type depends on the configuration of ram and cpu that of the virtual appliance.
Here is a list of all hardware types in combination with the configured ram and cpu values:

To change the cpu/ram settings, the appliance needs to be shutdown at first.
